King Charles is reportedly expected to make time for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle bring their children to the UK this summer.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be planning a visit to Britain in July, with Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, expected to accompany them. The trip is reportedly linked to the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
If the visit goes ahead, it could mark the first time King Charles has seen his grandchildren in four years.
Despite the monarch’s busy schedule and his usual summer plans in Scotland, former royal butler Grant Harrold believes Charles will do everything possible to make the reunion happen.
“I think the only thing that will stop it happening is if there is a diary clash,” Harrold said.
“The King goes up to Scotland for the summer, but I’m sure he will do everything he can to make it work,” he added. “This will be extremely important to the King and he will make it a priority.”
Since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and moved to the US in 2020, Charles has had limited opportunities to spend time with Archie and Lilibet. The Sussex family last visited Britain together in 2022.
The King has reportedly offered Harry, Meghan and their children accommodation at a royal residence during the trip. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the family reunion will take place.
According to Page Six, Harry is still expected to bring his own security team for the visit, despite the King’s reported offer of accommodation.
