Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly unhappy after new details emerged about the royal family's plans for Frogmore Cottage, their former UK residence.
According to recent reports, the royal household is considering reversing many of the renovations carried out by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their time at the property. The couple reportedly spent around $3 million upgrading the cottage before stepping back from royal duties.
A source claimed the home has remained vacant for several years and suggested that removing reminders of Harry and Meghan's time there could make it more appealing for future occupants within the royal family. The insider added that such changes would effectively close a controversial chapter in the property's history and restore it to its pre-Sussex state.
Royal commentator Tom Sykes, citing sources close to the couple, said Harry and Meghan are "furious" about the reported plans.
Sykes also claimed that the couple believes their 2023 eviction from Frogmore Cottage would not have happened during the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II. According to him, those close to the Sussexes argue that the Queen would have opposed the move because the cottage was gifted to them following their wedding.
He further alleged that supporters of Harry and Meghan believe King Charles III waited until after the Queen's death to reclaim the property.
While it remains unclear whether King Charles is directly involved in the reported renovation decisions, the plans could reflect the broader direction the royal institution intends to take regarding Frogmore Cottage's future.
