Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Make Key Accommodation Decision Ahead of UK Visit

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming UK visit has taken an unexpected turn, with the couple reportedly making a major decision about where they will stay during the trip.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to travel to Britain in July 2026 for a multi-day visit. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are also expected to join them, marking what would be their first visit to the UK as a family in four years.

There has been growing speculation over the Sussexes’ accommodation plans for the trip. King Charles had previously extended an offer for Harry and Meghan to stay at a royal residence, though no final decision had been confirmed at the time.

Now, in a notable development, the family has reportedly accepted the monarch’s offer to stay at a royal residence on a royal estate. They are also expected to use separate private accommodation during the visit. The exact location of the royal residence has not been disclosed.

Prince Harry is set to return to Britain to launch the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. During the visit, the Duke is also expected to spend time with several UK-based charities he continues to support.

The reported accommodation decision comes after Page Six claimed that Harry and Meghan were preparing for what sources described as a “huge spectacle.” According to the outlet, the family is not expected to travel by private jet and will instead be accompanied by their own security team.

Security has long been a sensitive issue for Prince Harry. On previous visits, he reportedly declined an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace due to concerns over safety arrangements.

Speaking to the BBC in the past, the Duke said, “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” adding that his children would miss out on “everything” if they were unable to spend time there.

At this stage, details of the security arrangements for the upcoming visit remain unclear. Buckingham Palace does not provide additional police protection, as such decisions fall under the authority of the Home Office.

There has also been no official confirmation on whether Prince Harry and Meghan will meet King Charles during the trip. The King has not seen Archie and Lilibet in person since 2022.
