Duke of Sussex reportedly pleased as Meghan backs efforts to rebuild royal ties
Meghan Markle has reportedly joined Harry in a renewed effort to repair relations with King Charles, with the Duke of Sussex said to be delighted by her apparent change in stance.
According to a report from the National Examiner, the couple are now united in pursuing reconciliation with the royal family after years of tension. The report claims Harry has been eager to restore his relationship with his father and believes Meghan's support is crucial to achieving that goal.
A source told the publication that Harry is pleased Meghan is now fully behind the effort. The insider claimed the former Suits star had not previously been entirely supportive of the idea but has since come around.
"Harry could not be happier," the source said, adding that he felt Meghan needed to play an active role in helping "win Charles over" and move the family closer to peace.
The claims emerged shortly after Meghan shared a wedding anniversary post on Instagram featuring several previously unseen photographs from the couple's 2018 wedding.
One image included King Charles at St George's Chapel, a detail the source described as intentional. The insider alleged that Meghan specifically chose the photograph and called the move "very calculated."
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward suggested the image may have carried a subtle message. "Meghan doesn't do anything without purpose," Seward said, interpreting the post as a sign that Harry and Meghan still see themselves as part of the wider royal family.
