Prince William has shared a message of support for England as the national team begins its FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.
The Prince of Wales took to the official Instagram account he shares with Princess Kate on Wednesday to wish the squad well ahead of their opening group-stage match.
“Good luck to England ahead of their first World Cup group match tonight!” William wrote. “Here's to a great tournament ahead.”
His message came as England prepared to face Croatia in its first match of the tournament on June 17.
The royal's show of support followed his appearance at Royal Ascot alongside Kate Middleton earlier in the day. The couple arrived at Ascot Racecourse as part of the traditional horse-drawn Royal Procession, marking Kate's first appearance at the prestigious event since 2023.
The Prince and Princess of Wales coordinated their looks for the occasion. Kate embraced a bold summer style in a marigold-yellow Roksanda midi dress that she had previously worn, while William opted for a classic morning suit and top hat.
Adding a thoughtful touch, the Prince wore a bright yellow freesia boutonniere that closely matched the vibrant shade of his wife's outfit, creating a polished and coordinated appearance for the royal couple.
