Prince William uses technology and innovation to address homelessness
Prince William made a surprise appearance at London Tech Week on Thursday, where he joined homelessness charity Homewards to discuss how technology and data can help prevent people from becoming homeless.
During the event, the Prince of Wales highlighted the importance of improving data systems to identify those at risk of homelessness at an earlier stage. He explained that better information could help organizations step in before individuals reach a crisis point.
The Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account shared a video from the event, featuring William's remarks on the role of innovation in tackling homelessness.
Addressing the audience, William said: "Homelessness is not inevitable. It is entirely preventable. It is predictable."
The post was captioned: "Preventing homelessness through innovation."
It added: "Exploring how technology and data can help us better understand the pathways into homelessness and identify opportunities to intervene earlier at #LondonTechWeek."
The discussion formed part of Homewards' ongoing mission to find long-term solutions to homelessness and create lasting change across communities.
