Prince Harry is set to return to the UK next week for a series of charity engagements, but Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will not be joining him in London.
According to reports, Harry is expected to visit London and Birmingham for events linked to his charitable work and the upcoming 2027 Invictus Games. Meghan and the children had initially been expected to travel with him, but a spokesperson has now confirmed they will not be visiting London. A trip elsewhere in Britain, however, has not been ruled out.
The decision reportedly came after a request for police protection was denied.
Royal commentator Angela Levin, who has often been critical of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, reacted strongly to the news and questioned the motive behind the move.
“Have Prince Harry and Meghan created a drama to show that they, not the King, are in charge?” she wrote on X.
Levin also suggested the decision could make it harder for King Charles to see his grandchildren, especially as he continues his cancer treatment.
“The two small ones and Meghan will not be in London, which means the King, who has cancer, would have to travel to see the children,” she said. “How harsh they are, and hard it is to believe Harry longs for a reunion with his father.”
She further speculated about Meghan possibly visiting Princess Diana’s resting place at Althorp Park and using the attention to promote her latest products, including honey.
Levin also questioned the security concerns, saying she did not believe RAVEC, the body responsible for assessing royal security arrangements, would overlook any genuine threat.
Harry’s solo visit is now expected to draw close attention, particularly amid continued speculation about his strained relationship with King Charles and the wider royal family.
