King Charles is reportedly frustrated with Prince William for refusing to support his efforts to rebuild his relationship with Prince Harry.
According to Heat World, tensions between the King and the Prince of Wales have grown following reports of private discussions involving Harry and Meghan Markle.
Royal insiders claimed that Charles wants to explore the possibility of reconciliation with his younger son, while William remains strongly opposed to the idea.
“The longer William digs in his heels and refuses to make peace with his brother, the more difficult it becomes for his aides and other senior royals who are loyal to both him and Charles,” a source told the publication.
The insider alleged that the disagreement has become so serious that the King no longer keeps William informed about his conversations with Harry.
“Things have gotten so bad that Charles has stopped briefing William on what’s been discussed with Harry,” the source claimed.
Charles reportedly believes the conversations should remain private and has told William to stop pressing for details because they are “simply none of his business.”
The source also alleged that the King is concerned about William’s continued focus on Harry’s actions.
“Charles finds it borderline obsessive that William is still so fixated on everything Harry does,” the insider said.
According to the report, Charles has accused his eldest son of allowing pride to influence his decisions and believes it is something William should address before eventually becoming king.
“He’s accused William of having far too much pride, and he says it’s a quality he ought to be working to snuff out if he wants to be a good ruler down the line,” the source added.
The King was also said to be deeply offended by suggestions that Harry could take advantage of him during any potential reconciliation.
“Charles also takes huge offence at William telling people that he’s going to get taken advantage of,” the insider claimed.
The source said Charles considers the suggestion insulting because it implies he has lost his judgement and is unable to recognise when someone may be trying to mislead him.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has publicly commented on the reported disagreement.
