Meghan Markle has once again come under fire, with a royal commentator claiming that even Prince Harry has been unable to help her build the level of success she hoped to achieve in the United States.
Speaking to broadcaster Dan Wootton, Royal News Network editor Brittany argued that Harry and Meghan have developed a reputation for bringing controversy with them.
“The truth, Dan, is that Harry and Meghan bring toxicity wherever they go, whether it is in person or online,” she claimed.
According to the commentator, this reputation may be one reason the couple have struggled to maintain strong professional relationships.
“It’s never easy, it’s never simple, it’s always complicated,” she said, before suggesting that their approach to work has not connected with American audiences.
Brittany argued that success in the US is closely linked to consistency and hard work, qualities she believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have failed to demonstrate.
“They barely work at all, and then they want all the praise, all the accolades, all the attention and all the glory for doing the minimal amount of work,” she alleged.
She added that while the American dream remains achievable, she does not believe Harry and Meghan have been able to take advantage of the opportunities available to them.
“They couldn’t live it because they’re not good at what they are attempting to do,” she said.
The commentator also took aim at Meghan’s acting career, noting that the Duchess had not reached Hollywood’s highest ranks before beginning her relationship with Harry.
“Meghan never really made it in Hollywood before she met Harry, and the same is true after him as well,” she claimed. “They had some success, but Harry and Meghan just don’t seem to know what to do or where to go.”
Meghan was best known for her role in the legal drama Suits before stepping away from acting following her engagement to Prince Harry.
Brittany went on to speculate that the couple’s professional difficulties could be placing pressure on their marriage, particularly if their income has declined in recent years.
“I’m sure the money problems and issues are compounding because they don’t have the same money coming in that they did even a couple of years ago,” she said.
Harry and Meghan have not publicly responded to the commentator’s remarks.
