The Duke of Sussex attended the TIME100 Sports Gala in New York City earlier this month, where he delivered a speech and appeared alongside prominent figures including skier Lindsey Vonn and basketball star LeBron James.
Harry made the appearance without Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Speaking to Radar Online, an unnamed source claimed there was a noticeable difference between the scale of the event and Harry’s reserved demeanor.
According to the insider, Harry appeared less comfortable than might be expected at a celebrity-filled gathering. The source added that while he remains deeply committed to the Invictus Games, events centered on fame and spectacle may not play to his strengths, particularly when he attends alone.
The insider also suggested that Harry seemed to be operating outside his comfort zone without Meghan by his side. They argued that he appears more at ease during engagements connected to a clear purpose or charitable cause.
“His focus remains on causes like Invictus,” the source claimed, adding that more glamorous settings can create visible tension in the way he presents himself.
However, the observations are based on interpretation of Harry’s behavior, and he has not publicly said that he dislikes attending celebrity gatherings or that Meghan influences how he feels about such events.
