Prince Harry reportedly understands the differences between King Charles and Prince William and is willing to use those tensions to his advantage, according to a royal commentator.
Harry recently visited King Charles with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The meeting, however, was said to have upset the Prince of Wales.
Writing for Naughty But Nice, royal expert Rob Shuter claimed that Harry understands the complicated relationship between his father and older brother better than most people.
According to a source cited by Shuter, Harry knows where Charles and William disagree and understands how those differences can work in his favor.
“Harry doesn’t just know where the weak spots are, he knows how to use them,” the source claimed. "He understands exactly where Charles and William see things differently, and he knows how to put them on opposite sides of the same issue. That's where he has leverage."
The reported differences between the King and the Prince of Wales are said to have become more noticeable after Charles's cancer diagnosis. During that period, William took on a larger leadership role while the monarch stepped back from some public duties.
Another royal insider claimed Harry was fully aware of how his meeting with Charles would be viewed.
“Harry knew exactly what the optics would be,” the source said. “A meeting with Charles was always going to infuriate William.”
The insider added that Harry understands the different ways his father and brother approach family matters.
“His father still thinks like a parent, while William thinks like the future King,” the source claimed. “Those are two very different mindsets, and Harry knows how to appeal to both.”
