Prince Harry has faced fresh criticism following his latest legal defeat, with one royal author urging him to step away from public attention for a year.
The Duke of Sussex recently lost a defamation case involving a major British tabloid, prompting renewed debate about his ongoing battles with the UK media.
Speaking to the Daily Express, author Tom Bower said Harry should return to Montecito and keep a low profile before attempting to rebuild damaged relationships.
“The best thing he could do is go back to Montecito and disappear for a year,” Bower said, adding that Harry would then need to prove he could be trusted.
The author also criticised the intense speculation surrounding Harry’s recent plans, including where he would stay, whether Meghan Markle would accompany him and whether their children would meet King Charles.
According to Bower, the constant flow of stories surrounding the Sussexes has damaged Harry’s credibility.
He accused the Duke of hypocrisy, claiming Harry uses the same media he frequently criticises to keep himself in the public eye.
Bower argued that Harry and Meghan could have arranged a quiet family visit if privacy had been their main concern. Instead, he alleged that the couple wanted widespread attention for publicity and branding purposes.
Neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly responded to Bower’s latest remarks.
