Prince Harry has revealed that he was bullied at school because of his hair colour, despite growing up as a member of the Royal Family.
During a recent appearance on Joe Marler’s Will See You Now podcast, the Duke of Sussex was asked what people most often get wrong about him.
“That I’m not ginger,” Harry replied, joking that his hair is closer to “sunset orange” or auburn.
As host Joe Marler and his team laughed, Harry recalled the nicknames he was given as a child.
“I got bullied a lot at school. I was called ‘Carrot Top,’” he said.
The conversation remained light-hearted, with Harry joking that he would “need therapy” after discussing the experience.
Later, he was asked whose life he would choose for a day: Harry Styles, Harry Kane or Harry Potter. The prince selected footballer Harry Kane, but only “on a winning day.”
“You don’t want to be Kane on a losing day, do you?” he added.
Harry also spoke about the possibility of passing his red hair on to his children. He admitted that, at the beginning of his relationship with Meghan Markle, he doubted his genes would be strong enough.
“I genuinely thought that, should this go the distance and we have kids, there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes, but I was wrong,” Harry said.
