Prince Harry’s biggest UK battle revealed as Duke prepares return: ‘Still a prince’

Prince Harry’s biggest challenge during his expected return to the UK may not be security, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex is reportedly hoping to receive royal treatment during any visit to Britain, despite no longer being a working member of the royal family.

Royal commentator Rob Shuter claimed on his Naughty But Nice Substack that insiders believe Harry’s biggest issue with the Palace will be over status rather than protection.

A source claimed Harry wants any trip to reflect his position as King Charles’ son, while Palace officials are said to be keen to avoid giving the impression that he and Meghan Markle are arriving on an official royal visit.

“Harry believes he should be treated the way the Prince and Princess of Wales are when they travel overseas,” a close confidant claimed.

“He wants the full royal treatment because, in his mind, he’s still a prince.”

However, Palace officials reportedly see the matter very differently. According to another source, the Palace does not want headlines suggesting Britain is hosting an official visit from the “American prince and princess.”

The insider stressed that Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals, meaning the arrangements around any visit must reflect that reality.

“This isn’t about being petty. It’s about protecting the institution,” the Palace source claimed.

They added that while Prince William and Kate Middleton represent the Crown, Harry and Meghan no longer do.

“The Palace can’t blur that line, even for a day,” the insider said.
