Prince William is being encouraged to consider Prince Harry’s reported hopes for reconciliation, especially as the Duke of Sussex prepares for a possible visit to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children.
The Prince of Wales has so far shown little interest in reconnecting with his younger brother, but those close to the situation believe there may be a rare opportunity for the family to come together.
According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, William is not currently expected to meet Harry during the visit, though plans could still change.
“At this time, William is not planning to be there, but things could change,” the source said. “Kate has been trying to convince William to meet with Harry, Meghan and the kids. She is interested in seeing the kids, as well.”
The insider added that the chance to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet is unusual, which has made the situation more significant for the family.
“These opportunities to see Archie and Lilibet haven’t happened before, so when they found out they were coming, it was a shock. They are trying to make this work because the opportunities are so limited,” the source shared.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and later moved to California, where they now live with their two children. Since then, the couple’s relationship with the royal family has remained strained, particularly after they publicly discussed their experiences and concerns in interviews.
While it remains unclear whether a reunion will take place, Kate is reportedly hoping the visit could provide a chance for the children to connect with their royal relatives.
