Prince William reportedly did not meet Prince Harry during the Duke of Sussex’s recent visit to the UK, suggesting that the brothers remain deeply estranged.
Harry and Meghan travelled to Highgrove House in Gloucestershire last week with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. The family reportedly met King Charles and Queen Camilla, marking the monarch’s first reunion with his Sussex grandchildren in more than four years.
The visit followed Harry’s long-running legal battle over police protection for his family while in Britain. The Sussexes lost their automatic right to taxpayer-funded security after stepping back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020. Despite losing a legal challenge over the arrangements in 2025, the family reportedly made a quiet trip to see the King last Friday.
The gathering was another sign of progress between Harry and his father following years of tension. However, his relationship with William appears to remain unresolved.
According to People magazine, the brothers had no contact during Harry’s time in England.
“It’s so broken,” a source said of their relationship. “I thought it would have perhaps eased a little bit by now, to be honest. But there has been no movement, especially on William’s side. There is no contact.”
Harry and William’s once-close bond became increasingly strained after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left royal duties. Tensions intensified following the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in 2023.
Royal author and historian Simon Vigar said their late mother, Princess Diana, would have been devastated by the rift, particularly because the brothers were once so close.
Despite the continuing tensions, Harry has publicly expressed his desire to repair his family relationships.
“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he told the BBC in May 2025. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
