Prince William joined King Charles and Queen Camilla in Edinburgh on Wednesday for the annual Order of the Thistle Service, one of Scotland's most significant royal ceremonies.
Kensington Palace confirmed that the Prince of Wales attended the service at St Giles' Cathedral, where he was seen arriving alongside the King and Queen.
The Order of the Thistle is Scotland's highest order of chivalry. According to the Royal Family, it recognises up to 16 Knights and Ladies who have made outstanding contributions to Scottish public life or served the nation with distinction. It ranks second only to the Order of the Garter in the British honours system.
Other senior members of the Royal Family also attended the ceremony, including the Duke of Rothesay and the Duke of Edinburgh, who were seen arriving at St Giles' Cathedral ahead of the service.
Elsewhere, Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, attended commemorations in France marking the 110th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. The Princess Royal was also seen greeting the Duke of Gloucester during the commemorative events.
The annual Order of the Thistle Service remains one of the key fixtures on the royal calendar in Scotland, celebrating individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the country's national life.
