Queen Camilla reportedly put aside past tensions to support King Charles during his private meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to a source close to the royal couple, Charles wanted his wife present because she has remained a source of strength throughout the family’s ongoing difficulties with Harry.
“Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything,” the insider told Vanity Fair.
The source claimed Camilla kept the arrangements completely private, even from members of her own family.
“She told no one, not even her family. She just got in the car and headed over,” the insider said, adding that everyone involved was determined to keep the meeting “as watertight as possible.”
Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and later moved to California. Since their departure, the couple have spoken publicly about their difficult experiences within the royal family, including concerns about how their son, Prince Archie, would be treated.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now live in California with Archie and their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
