Prince William is reportedly furious over a series of decisions made by King Charles, including his father’s handling of Prince Andrew and his determination to make peace with Prince Harry.
Royal insiders told Closer that the king’s choices have become “like a bad dream” for his eldest son. William is said to believe that Charles has been too lenient with Andrew following the controversy surrounding the former duke’s links to convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Although Charles reportedly stripped Andrew of his remaining titles and forced him to leave Royal Lodge, William allegedly felt that his father should have taken even stronger action.
The Prince of Wales had apparently believed that he and Charles were on the same page about protecting the monarchy from scandal and distancing the institution from controversial figures. Sources now claim he has been shocked to discover that they do not share the same approach.
“For William, it’s like a bad dream to see the King making these dreadful decisions, and the fact that he carries such little influence, despite being second in line to the throne, is infuriating,” an insider claimed.
Charles’ reported efforts to reconcile with Harry have allegedly added to the tension. William is said to remain deeply wary of the Sussexes and concerned about the effect their possible return could have on the Royal Family.
Despite their disagreements, the source insisted that William’s love for his father remains unchanged. However, the prince has reportedly lost considerable respect for some of the king’s decisions.
“So, at this point he’s trying to bite his lip and avoid negative discussions, which means keeping more of a distance, at least while he bides his time and sees how this all plays out with the Sussexes,” the insider added.
For now, William reportedly plans to avoid a direct confrontation as he watches how his father’s approach toward Harry and Meghan unfolds.
