King Charles has reportedly left the door open for Prince Harry to seek his support amid renewed speculation about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage.
Recent claims from royal commentator Rob Shuter suggested that friends of the couple have noticed a change in their relationship. He also alleged that Harry and Meghan are now “living very separate lives.”
The claims have not been confirmed by the couple.
However, a royal insider has told Star magazine that King Charles is watching the situation from a distance and would be willing to help his younger son if he ever felt overwhelmed.
“Charles has been watching everything unfold from a distance,” the source claimed. “While he’s certainly not wishing for Harry’s marriage to fail, he’s realistic enough to know that even the strongest relationships can reach breaking point under this kind of pressure.”
The insider suggested that the King’s own experience with a highly public divorce has shaped his understanding of the difficulties Harry may be facing.
“He’s been through a very public divorce himself and knows how different things can be behind closed doors compared to the image people see,” the source said.
According to the report, Charles wants Harry to know that he can turn to him without fear of criticism or judgment.
“If he ever reaches a point where he’s overwhelmed or confused, there’s no judgment waiting for him,” the insider claimed. “He’ll be there to listen and offer whatever wisdom he can.”
The source added that the King may not be in a position to advise Harry on Hollywood, commercial projects or the business decisions he and Meghan make together.
When it comes to relationships, however, Charles reportedly feels he has personal experience that could help his son.
The report suggests that despite the continuing tensions between Harry and the royal family, the King has not completely closed the door on rebuilding their relationship.
