Meghan Markle’s confidence has reportedly received a boost as King Charles continues working to repair his relationship with Prince Harry and his family.
Royal insiders claim the Duke and Duchess of Sussex no longer believe they need Prince William and Kate Middleton’s approval to rebuild their ties with the Royal Family.
“It’s becoming increasingly clear that they don’t need William and Kate’s approval to find their way back into the royal fold, which of course has really boosted Meghan’s confidence,” a source told the Examiner.
Another confidant alleged that Harry and Meghan believe the Prince and Princess of Wales “went out of their way to make life as difficult and painful as possible for them” and attempted to block them “at every turn.”
However, according to the source, those efforts ultimately “failed.”
The latest claims come amid reports that King Charles is eager to put the long-running family rift behind him. A palace insider said the monarch is already laying the groundwork for a better relationship with Harry, Meghan and their children.
“The fact that the king is working so hard to put this rift in the past, and that he’s laying the groundwork for the future, not just for Harry and Meghan but for their children and future generations, is hugely satisfying,” the insider said.
Royal commentator Dan Wootton also claimed during an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show that Charles has offered Harry and Meghan palace accommodation whenever they need it. He further alleged that the couple had been invited to spend time with the King at Balmoral, the Royal Family’s private Scottish estate.
Sources say the developments have left Harry and Meghan “feeling pretty vindicated.”
Despite the continuing tension, the Sussexes reportedly remain open to improving their relationship with William and Kate.
“They would still very much like to have a better relationship with William and Kate, and they intend to work towards that,” an insider added.
