Meghan Markle has come under fresh criticism from royal commentator Angela Levin, who claims the Duchess of Sussex is self-focused and views herself as an “icon.”
Writing in an opinion piece for News24, Levin discussed reports surrounding Meghan’s recent visit to the UK with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. She claimed Meghan was unhappy with how the family was received during the trip.
A source quoted by the National Examiner alleged that Meghan felt she and Harry had been treated like “a pair of outsiders.”
“It wasn’t polite, but in reality she and Harry are just that,” Levin responded.
The commentator also suggested that Meghan no longer feels special within the wider Royal Family. She linked this claim to the duchess’s 45th birthday celebration, during which Meghan was seen dancing in her California kitchen while wearing pyjama trousers, a T-shirt bearing the words “It’s Giving Mrs,” and a plastic tiara.

In a separate post on X, formerly Twitter, Levin claimed that Meghan’s preferred forms of address, including “ma’am” and “Meg,” can leave people feeling uncomfortable because, she alleged, “she gets cold if they say the wrong word.”
Levin described this as a way of keeping others “under control,” before adding that Meghan could at least “console herself” with the knowledge that people continue to talk about her.
Neither Meghan nor Harry has publicly responded to Levin’s latest remarks.
