Prince Harry reportedly hopes to make a public appearance alongside King Charles at the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The Duke of Sussex has invited his father to attend the event, with royal commentator Emily Ferguson suggesting that a photograph of the pair together would give Harry a significant public show of royal support.
Writing for the Express, Ferguson said Harry is “desperate to be pictured alongside the King” at the Games.
Such an appearance would represent an important moment for father and son following years of tension. Their relationship became increasingly strained after Harry stepped back from royal duties and publicly criticized the Royal Family in interviews, a Netflix documentary and his memoir, Spare.
Although Charles and Harry have met privately several times, they have not been photographed together since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.
Their most recent reported meeting took place at Highgrove House last month, where Harry was joined by Meghan Markle and their children.
Ferguson noted that Harry has repeatedly spoken about wanting to reconcile with his family. However, she said a public reunion would take matters further by placing the King’s willingness to forgive on display before a global audience.
