Prince Harry has spoken publicly just hours after reports emerged that he and Meghan Markle could be preparing to return to the UK.
The Duke of Sussex did not address the speculation surrounding his family’s possible move. Instead, his comments focused on supporting military veterans and recognizing the experience they can offer beyond their years of service.
Speaking to the Associated Press at an event organized by The Independence Fund in Washington, D.C., Harry said the “world needs more heroes.”
“It’s not about creating more heroes because they already live among us,” he explained.
Harry also discussed the possibility of developing commercial solutions that could improve veterans’ everyday lives while making better use of their knowledge and skills.
“It’s about being able to really value their expertise, their experiences,” he said.
The Duke went on to call for a new generation of leaders who can approach global challenges from a different perspective.
“What we need is the younger generation coming into leadership who perhaps see the world slightly differently,” Harry said, adding: “And I think a little less testosterone might do as well.”
His comments came amid reports that the Sussex family could be planning a return to Britain. The rumored move is not expected to involve the “half-in, half-out” royal arrangement Harry and Meghan reportedly sought before stepping away from official duties in 2020.
Instead, they are said to be considering living in the UK as private citizens without resuming formal roles within the monarchy.
Reports have also claimed that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been assigned places at a school and could begin attending as early as September.
Harry and Meghan have not publicly confirmed those claims or formally announced that they are moving back to the UK.
