Kate Middleton has reportedly found herself caught in the middle of growing tensions between Prince William and King Charles, leaving her emotionally drained.
According to a report, Prince Harry remains at the heart of the disagreement. While the King appears unwilling to rule out welcoming Harry and Meghan Markle back into the royal fold, William reportedly remains deeply distrustful of the couple.
A source told New Idea that Kate understands her husband’s concerns but fears his anger is making an already difficult situation worse.
“Kate understands why he’s frustrated by the decisions his father has made when it comes to Harry and Meghan, and even Andrew, but she doesn’t believe his anger is helping the situation,” the insider claimed.
Known for playing the role of peacemaker within the royal family, Kate has reportedly tried to ease the tension. Her efforts, however, are said to have made little difference.
“She’s reached the point where she has had to accept that this isn’t something she can fix,” the source said.
The insider added that being caught between her husband and father-in-law has taken an emotional toll on the Princess of Wales.
“Being caught in the middle has become emotionally exhausting, and the fact is things have gotten so explosive that anything she does risks making things worse,” the source claimed. “All she can do now is hope they eventually find their own way back to each other.”
The source went on to describe the relationship between Charles and William as unusually strained, suggesting that their similar personalities have only deepened the divide.
“It’s bad. Never has there been such an estrangement between monarch and heir, but it’s also proof that William has the same stubborn streak as his father,” the insider alleged.
“William does not trust Harry and Meghan one bit, but Charles won’t be dissuaded from welcoming them.”
