Prince William is reportedly not ready to make a public appearance alongside his younger brother, Prince Harry, amid their ongoing family tensions.
According to an insider who spoke to RadarOnline.com, the Prince of Wales fears that attending an engagement with Harry would create the false impression that the brothers have repaired their relationship.
“William’s position is that Harry choosing to live in Britain again does not suddenly repair their relationship,” the source claimed. “He isn’t prepared to appear alongside him at engagements simply to create photographs suggesting otherwise.”
A royal expert echoed that view, saying any joint appearance would likely be seen as proof that the brothers had resolved their differences.
“He believes sharing a public platform would immediately be interpreted as evidence that everything between them had been resolved,” the expert said. “From William’s perspective, that would be completely false.”
The source added that William does not want to present a public image of reconciliation unless significant progress first takes place behind closed doors.
The claims emerged after Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in England on Wednesday, August 26, with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lived in California since stepping back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020.
