Princess Anne is reportedly urging Prince William to repair his family relationships before he eventually takes the throne.
According to a royal expert, the Princess Royal has warned William not to allow Prince Harry’s return to the royal fold to deepen tensions between him and their father, King Charles.
Reports of a disagreement between William and Charles have recently intensified following the King’s meeting with the Duke of Sussex. Anne is now said to be encouraging her nephew to think carefully about the future and prevent the situation involving Harry from further damaging his relationship with his father.
“She’s worried about Kate and the children,” the royal expert told New Idea.
The source claimed Anne warned William that “now’s not the time to make enemies,” adding: “If he does, he’ll have just as difficult a reign as his father’s having.”
The reported warning comes after Harry met King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House during a recent visit to the UK.
Following the meeting, sources suggested that the Duke wants to rebuild his relationship with his father and spend more time with the wider royal family.
“There’s no doubt he enjoyed his time in the UK with his family, especially getting the opportunity to see his father with his wife and children,” an insider told The Mirror earlier this month.
The source added that the emotional strain of recent years has reportedly prompted Harry to reconsider his relationship with Britain and his family.
“The last few years have been incredibly emotional for him, and now he’s reached a place where he wants to not only visit his home country more, but also would really like to be with his family,” the confidant claimed.
