Princess Anne has reportedly stepped in to help repair the strained relationship between her nephews, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The Princess Royal is said to be pushing for peace as Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, prepare to return to Britain next month.
Sources told Closer that Anne urged William to put his personal feelings aside and consider how his ongoing feud with Harry is affecting their father, King Charles.
According to the insiders, Anne is appalled that the brothers continue “fighting, sulking and getting bent out of shape” over minor disagreements when they should be “treasuring every moment they have left with their father” and showing him proper respect.
The Princess Royal has reportedly been “chipping away” at William, hoping to make him understand how damaging the family rift could be to Charles’ legacy.
Anne’s own relationship with Harry is believed to have cooled following the release of his memoir, Spare. However, she has reportedly softened her position and now shares the King’s desire to move forward.
“It’s fair to say things did go quite cold between her and Harry after his book came out, but she’s come around to the King’s way of thinking,” a source said.
“She’s ready to move forward and feels strongly it’s time William did too.”
The insider added that Anne has both always shared a close bond with William and Harry. The brothers have reportedly turned to their aunt for guidance over the years, particularly during periods when their relationship with their father was difficult.
“And that is still the case to this day,” the source added.
