Princess Diana shared a ‘wonderfully warm’ talent with King Charles

Princess Diana was a gifted and prolific letter writer, much like her former husband, King Charles.

The late Princess of Wales, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, regularly sent handwritten notes to thank people for their kindness and hospitality.

Speaking on behalf of Casino.org, Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe said: “Diana was a prolific letter writer.”

“I used to encourage her not to write quite so many letters, but I thought it was part of her aristocratic upbringing,” he recalled. “She’d been brought up to believe that if somebody showed you kindness or hospitality, you always wrote to say thank you.”

Wharfe described Diana’s letters as personal and full of character, adding: “She wrote constantly, and her letters were wonderfully warm and often very funny.”

He also revealed that the princess took a keen interest in current affairs.

“She always wanted to know what was happening in the world and what was going on in politics,” he said.
