Princess Kate could be set for a major return to international travel later this year, with reports suggesting she may join Prince William in India for the Earthshot Prize Awards.
The annual environmental awards are expected to be held in Mumbai this November, with a possible visit to Delhi also being considered. A source told The Mirror that the Princess of Wales is excited by the prospect of travelling to South Asia as part of the couple’s official duties.
Kate has not attended an Earthshot Prize ceremony since the 2022 event in Boston. If the India trip goes ahead, it would mark an important moment for the Waleses, potentially becoming their first overseas visit together since that Boston trip.
The couple last undertook a major international tour in 2022, when they travelled to the Caribbean. Kate’s possible appearance in India would also follow her recent return to royal engagements abroad, including a visit to Italy earlier this year.
William and Kate have fond history with India, having toured the country together in 2016. Their week-long visit also included Bhutan and saw them visit several major cities, as well as the Taj Mahal, shortly before their fifth wedding anniversary.
India had also been on King Charles and Queen Camilla’s travel plans in 2022, but their proposed visit was cancelled following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
