Queen Camilla has reportedly sparked fresh tension with Prince William after making a move that the Prince of Wales allegedly believes undermined his position as heir to the throne.
According to a source said to be familiar with the royal family’s private dynamics, the dispute began when Camilla chose to be present during a meeting involving King Charles, Prince Harry and his family.
For William, the decision was reportedly difficult to accept.
The source claimed Camilla’s explanation was that she attended the meeting to support Charles while also keeping a close eye on Meghan Markle, whom she allegedly does not trust.
“She insists she only agreed to go because Charles needed her there to support him and protect him, but William isn't buying that,” the insider told RadarOnline.
The source went on to claim that William viewed Camilla’s involvement as an attempt to insert herself into an extremely sensitive family matter without his support.
“As far as he's concerned, it was a classic case of her trying to divide and conquer, and he's furious she inserted herself into such a sensitive meeting without his backing,” the insider alleged.
According to the report, relations between William and Camilla have long been complicated, although the pair were said to have found some common ground in recent years when it came to Harry and Meghan.
“He has never trusted her, and the only thing they've agreed on in recent years is how poisonous Meghan and Harry are,” the source claimed.
The insider added that Camilla’s apparent willingness to welcome the Sussexes has now raised fresh concerns for William.
“He's convinced this was her way of trying to undermine his authority and send the message that she's still got more power than he does – and he's livid,” the source concluded.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has publicly confirmed the claims.
