Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly considering a public apology to King Charles as they look to ease tensions within the Royal Family.
According to British media reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may acknowledge the hurt caused by the long-running family rift, which has played out publicly since they stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Over the years, Harry and Meghan have spoken openly about their experiences with the monarchy through television interviews, their Netflix series and Harry’s memoir, Spare. Their comments have deepened the divide, particularly between Harry and Prince William.
However, former royal butler Grant Harrold believes an apology may not be enough to repair the brothers’ relationship.
Speaking on The Royals Uncensored podcast, Harrold said: “Even with a public apology, I don’t see any way back now between the two of them.”
He added that, based on what he has heard, William remains unwilling to rebuild ties with his younger brother. “William is still adamant he doesn't want anything to do with his brother,” Harrold said.
Radar Online also reported that Harry and Meghan are considering an apology to King Charles as a way of recognising the impact the feud has had on the family.
One source claimed that the situation had gone much further than anyone expected when the Sussexes first left royal life. Years of interviews, accusations, books and public disagreements have reportedly left lasting wounds, with a growing sense that continuing the conflict benefits no one.
