Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has shared his honest impression of Prince Harry after meeting the Duke of Sussex several times.
The singer first crossed paths with Harry at one of his performances and later had the opportunity to speak with him privately on separate occasions.
Speaking to Hello!, Wilson said he had always found the Duke likable and approachable.
“I’ve met him a few times and I’ve always really liked him,” the singer said.
Wilson admitted, however, that he was initially unsure whether Harry’s down-to-earth personality was genuine or simply part of his public image.
“I don’t know whether he’s pretending to be down to earth or he is down to earth,” he said. “I’m pretending to be a rock star. God knows in this household I’m not.”
His playful remarks suggest that Harry appeared relaxed and relatable during their encounters, although Wilson stopped short of claiming that he knew the royal closely.
The comments come at a time when Harry and Meghan Markle continue to attract intense public scrutiny. The couple have recently faced renewed discussion following Harry’s trip to the UK, comments linked to Martha Stewart and reactions to Meghan’s documentary, Cookie Queens.
Harry also remains a divisive figure in public opinion surveys. According to the cited YouGov figures, he has a recognition rating of 96 percent, while his popularity stands at 27 percent. The data also indicates that 43 percent of respondents hold an unfavorable opinion of him.
Despite that divided public response, Wilson’s personal encounters appear to have left him with a positive impression of the Duke.
