Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has reportedly been seen on the French Riviera, raising questions about whether he may be considering a move away from Britain.
According to Radar Online, Andrew was spotted near Cannes and Nice wearing a red baseball cap, white trousers, Timberland shoes and Ray-Ban sunglasses.
Royal author Andrew Lownie claimed he was accompanied by two women in their forties, one blonde and the other red-haired. Their identities have not been revealed, and there is no evidence that either woman has a romantic relationship with him.
Lownie also claimed that Andrew may be looking for a property in southern France.
An unnamed source said Andrew’s life in Britain has become much more limited in recent years. The insider suggested that France could offer him more privacy and distance from the Royal Family.
“He has lost his royal status and his former Windsor home, and France could offer the privacy and distance he may feel he needs,” the source said.
Writing on Substack, Lownie said Andrew had not spent the entire summer isolated at Marsh Farm. He claimed Andrew still has his passport and regularly travels overseas with King Charles’ knowledge.
Another source said buying a home in France would mark a major step away from Andrew’s former royal life. The French Riviera could allow him to live more privately while still enjoying the area’s wealthy social circles.
The insider added that Andrew’s appearance with the two women suggests he continues to travel and spend time with friends and acquaintances.
However, reports that he is looking for a home in France remain unconfirmed. Andrew has not publicly commented on the sighting or his future plans.
