Harry and Meghan gave blunt advice after King Charles’ major statement

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly moved back to the UK last month

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been urged to stop acting like working members of the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have attracted widespread attention since their reported return to the UK. Their move has also raised questions about whether they will have any role in the monarchy.

However, King Charles reportedly made their position clear in a letter this week. He said Harry and Meghan are not working royals and should be treated as private citizens.

Following the statement, critics have called on the couple to avoid activities that look like official royal duties.

LBC presenter Shelagh Fogarty pointed to Harry and Meghan’s recent trip to Australia as an example.

“It was a success. But it looked like a royal tour. It walked like a royal tour. It was a royal tour,” she said.

Fogarty suggested that the King’s letter was meant to address this issue. She also warned that tensions could grow.

“They insist on living a life that looks almost exactly like that of working members of the Royal Family, while also insisting they aren’t,” she added.

The couple faced similar criticism after visiting Nigeria and Colombia in 2024.

A source previously told Us Weekly that the trips had the feel of royal tours, which could confuse the public. The insider also accused Harry and Meghan of using their former royal connections even though they no longer represent the monarchy.

According to the source, the couple’s strong media presence has also made it harder to repair their relationship with the Royal Family.

“It’s taking steps forward, then steps back,” the insider said. “Just when the flames of controversy die down, they have an uncanny ability to start another one.”
