Questions have been raised about who told Sarah Ferguson that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be planning a return to the UK.
Andrew Lownie, a biographer of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has now shared his view on the matter in an interview with the Daily Mail.
According to Lownie, Ferguson had reportedly asked to use Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s private home in Portugal whenever she wished. However, he claimed the couple rejected the request because they did not want the property surrounded by photographers.
Ferguson has still been welcomed there as a guest by her daughter, Lownie said. Harry and Meghan have also reportedly visited the property.
The biographer suggested that the Sussexes may have told Eugenie about plans to send their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to private schools in the Cotswolds. Eugenie could then have shared the information with her mother.
However, Lownie believes Meghan may have told Ferguson herself.
He said the two women have both had difficult relationships with the royal establishment and may find it helpful to share their experiences.
Lownie also claimed that Meghan sees Ferguson as an example of someone who has remained connected to the Royal Family while building an independent career, particularly in the United States.
His comments remain speculation, and neither Harry, Meghan nor Ferguson has publicly confirmed how the information was shared.
