King Charles would reportedly be unhappy if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a television deal with the BBC.
Recent reports suggest that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considering projects with British broadcasters following their return to the UK.
A source told RadarOnline.com that the possibility of Harry and Meghan working with the BBC could cause concern at the Palace.
The insider said Charles has been trying to repair his relationship with Harry in private. He reportedly does not want another television project creating fresh headlines about the Royal Family.
“If it became another vehicle for discussing private royal matters, he would be furious,” the source claimed.
Another insider said returning to Britain has created new opportunities for Harry and Meghan. Instead of signing another major deal like their Netflix agreement, they could work on individual programs with the BBC or other British broadcasters.
This approach could give the couple more control over the projects they choose to produce.
Harry and Meghan have reportedly returned to Britain with their children. They are also expected to keep their home in Montecito, California, during their extended stay in the UK.
