Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may face a major security challenge as their children begin school in the UK.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly returned to Britain with Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five. Since the family does not currently receive taxpayer-funded police protection, taking the children to and from school could be difficult.
A friend of the couple told The Telegraph that the daily school run is “absolutely the biggest area of concern,” adding that it “creates the most dangers.”
Previous reports claimed that Archie and Lilibet had been enrolled in a private school before the family moved back. However, the name and location of the school have not been revealed.
Harry and Meghan are reportedly handling school drop-offs and pick-ups themselves. The school has been informed about the children’s attendance and has introduced the necessary safety measures. Staff members have also received special training.
The couple is now waiting for the UK Home Office to decide whether they will receive taxpayer-funded security during their long-term stay in Europe. They were previously denied police protection during visits to the UK.
Page Six earlier reported that parents at the school had been reminded about stricter privacy rules.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said families were told that some pupils may attract greater public or media attention. Parents and carers were also reminded not to photograph or film other children without permission. They were warned against sharing information or images of pupils and their families on social media.
