King Charles has made it clear that Prince Harry should be treated as a private citizen rather than a working royal.
The King reportedly issued a letter confirming that Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer part of “The Firm,” a term used for senior working members of the Royal Family.
Writing in the i newspaper, royal expert Jennie Bond said the message carried “quite a sting.”
“Nothing, the Palace insisted, had changed. But, in truth, it had,” she wrote.
According to Bond, the King had publicly shown how his younger son should now be treated, without the special ceremonies and formal customs usually linked to working royals.
Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and later moved to California. They live there with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Since leaving royal life, the couple have spoken publicly about their difficult experiences within the Royal Family, including allegations of racism.
