Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner has suggested that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton could compete for the public’s affection following Meghan’s reported return to Britain.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Turner described a possible “royal battle” over who would become the public’s “Queen of Hearts.”
He said he believed Prince William felt more comfortable while Prince Harry was living in the United States. In Turner’s view, this gave William more freedom to shape his public image as the future king without competition from his brother.
Turner also referred to reports that William’s plans for the monarchy had led to disagreements and heated arguments with King Charles.
He questioned whether William and Kate were staying calm about the situation. He also speculated that they might hope criticism of Meghan’s possible career plans in Britain would weaken her chances of success.
Other experts have claimed that William and Kate are sending a warning to Harry and Meghan, although the report did not explain what that warning was.
According to the report, Harry and Meghan returned to Britain last month with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
