Meghan Markle was reportedly disappointed that Beyoncé did not contact her during a visit to the UK.
According to an unnamed source who spoke to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice newsletter, Meghan had hoped to meet the singer while she was in London.
Beyoncé was reportedly in the city this month for Jay-Z’s concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, she and Meghan did not meet.
“Meghan didn’t expect Beyoncé to roll out a red carpet,” the source said. “But she absolutely assumed they would have tea, lunch or spend some private time together. When nothing happened, it stung.”
The source claimed that Meghan was surprised because she believed the two women were close and had stayed in contact through calls and text messages.
It is unclear whether Beyoncé was simply too busy or chose not to arrange a meeting.
Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in 2020. They later moved to California with their son, Prince Archie, and welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet. Since leaving royal duties, the couple have spoken publicly about their difficult experiences within the Royal Family.
