Royal author Omid Scobie says he does not expect Prince William and Prince Harry to repair their relationship. He also doubts that Kate, Princess of Wales, can help bring the brothers together.
Speaking in a new Disney+ documentary about Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain, Scobie said King Charles appears to have grown warmer toward the couple. The Daily Mail quoted him as saying that the “iciness has thawed out” between Charles and the Sussexes. He added that he does not think William’s relationship with Harry will change.
Scobie also spoke about suggestions that Kate could act as a peacemaker. From what he has seen while covering the royal family, he said, Kate has had little to do with the relationship between the brothers.
His comments came days after a letter issued at King Charles’s direction clarified Harry and Meghan’s status following their return to Britain. Royal commentator Rob Shuter claimed William had pushed for the clarification.
The letter suggests that living in Britain again will not give Harry and Meghan an official role in royal life.
