Prince Harry’s future career is attracting attention following reports that a return to royal duties is unlikely.
According to the Daily Record, the Duke of Sussex could explore new opportunities in British television. This may even include an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
Former royal butler and etiquette expert Grant Harrold suggested that Harry could make a television series about royal homes and palaces.
Speaking to Smooth Spins Casino, Harrold said such a show might follow Harry’s background. He added that the Royal Family may not object because the subject would fit his public image.
Harrold also said Harry could appear on British morning television. He noted that the duke has already appeared on several American talk shows.
According to Harrold, a British television appearance could be acceptable if Harry used it to promote the Invictus Games and handled the interview carefully.
He also suggested that Harry could follow Princess Anne’s example by appearing on an entertainment or quiz show. Princess Anne previously appeared on Blankety Blank.
Harrold said a light-hearted appearance on a program hosted by someone such as Michael McIntyre could help the public see Harry’s more playful side.
“He’s got to come up with some new way of doing things,” Harrold said. He explained that Harry is unlikely to return to traditional royal work, so he may need to find other projects that do not create further tension with his family.
The former royal butler added that game shows and guest appearances could help Harry promote his work and the Invictus Games. He believes a new approach may also help Harry rebuild his relationship with the British public.
The comments came after Buckingham Palace sent a letter to senior government and military officials on September 7.
The letter confirmed that Harry and Meghan stepped down from official duties on behalf of the monarch in January 2020 and are no longer working members of the Royal Family.
It added that their current status has not changed and described them as private citizens with business and charity interests.
