Prince Harry is reportedly planning a television film about the life of his late mother, Princess Diana, but the idea is said to have upset Prince William.
Daily Mail senior editor Richard Kay claimed on Thursday that the project was one of the reasons Harry returned to the United Kingdom.
According to Kay, the Duke of Sussex contacted friends and other people who knew Diana, asking them to take part in the project.
“That’s going to occupy a lot of his headspace over the next 12 months,” Kay said.
However, the reported film has allegedly caused “intense frustration” for William. Kay pointed out that while Harry is often closely linked to Diana, she was the mother of both brothers.
“William is just as much his mother’s son as Harry is,” he said, claiming that William feels Harry has tried to take control of Diana’s legacy.
Kay also suggested that Harry may continue using his connection to Diana and the Spencer family to separate himself from the House of Windsor.
He noted that during Harry’s visit to Britain in July, the duke reportedly spent time with Diana’s relatives at Althorp, her childhood home and final resting place.
Neither Harry nor William has publicly commented on the reported film project.
