Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing fresh public attention following reports about their return to the UK.
According to Closer Online, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned with their children for an extended stay after spending almost six years away. The visit could give Harry a chance to reconnect with old friends, but sources claim Meghan is worried about memories of his former “party prince” lifestyle returning.
“This is a big topic of conversation because now that Harry’s home, all of his old friends, like Skip [Tom Inskip], Mark [Dyer], Charlie [van Straubenzee] and others, are wanting to see him,” an unnamed source told the outlet.
The source said Harry has stayed in contact with many of his friends but has not seen them for years. They added that he often felt lonely in Montecito and saw spending time with old friends as one of the main benefits of being back in Britain.
However, the insider claimed the situation makes Meghan nervous. She reportedly fears that nights out could place Harry in an uncomfortable position or create negative headlines.
The source said Meghan is especially concerned about photographs showing Harry drinking and partying in London. She reportedly believes such images could damage the couple’s public reputation at a time when they are already facing intense scrutiny.
Harry has previously spoken warmly about the social life he misses in Britain. In a 2025 essay, he wrote about enjoying “the banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub” and other parts of British culture.
Royal commentator Lady Colin Campbell also made an unverified claim about Harry’s personal life. She suggested Meghan may prefer him to remain in the UK because he had allegedly formed a close friendship with another woman in California. No evidence was offered to support the claim.
According to the insiders, Meghan would prefer Harry to meet his friends in private, ideally at the place where the family is staying. She has reportedly offered to host gatherings and watch rugby with them.
The source stressed that Meghan does not want to stop Harry from seeing his friends. Instead, she reportedly wants to prevent him from returning to old habits or making a public mistake.
Harry, however, is said to want more freedom to spend time with his friends. This means Meghan may have to accept some compromise.
