Prince William and Kate Middleton spent time in Scotland as Charles Spencer’s book about Princess Diana attracted attention.
According to a report, the couple traveled to Royal Deeside after visiting the Isle of Bute on Thursday. King Charles was also nearby, staying at his Birkhall home on the Balmoral estate after two days of royal duties at Dumfries House in Ayrshire.
Kate reportedly stayed for two nights before returning to Windsor alone on Saturday morning.
Hello! reported that Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace declined to say whether William and Kate met with the King.
Their stay nearby led to speculation that William and his father may have discussed Spencer’s book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister. However, no such discussion has been confirmed.
Spencer has also called for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to receive official security. Unnamed royal sources suggested these comments could upset William, who is reportedly unhappy about the couple’s return to the UK.
The report also suggested that Spencer’s comments about William in the book could cause further tension. William has not publicly responded to those claims.
