King Charles has thanked young people, volunteers and their families as the first National Cadets Week begins.
Buckingham Palace shared his message on the royal family’s social media accounts on Monday. The post included photos of King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie carrying out royal duties.
The message praised cadet groups for helping young people for more than 100 years. These groups help them discover their strengths, learn new skills and build the confidence to handle life’s challenges.
Young people in cities, towns, rural areas and coastal communities take part in cadet activities. They make lasting friendships and help their local communities.
The King’s thanks included youth groups linked to the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force, as well as the fire, police and ambulance services. Together, these groups help hundreds of thousands of young people learn, grow and support others.
