Brand expert Nick Ede, described as a former friend of Meghan Markle, has encouraged her to focus less on her royal title and more on her identity as a celebrity.
According to the Daily Express, Ede told Cafe Casino that Meghan could rebuild her connection with the British public without support from the palace.
He said she has changed since arriving in Britain in 2017 and suggested this could be a fresh start for her.
Ede praised Meghan and Prince Harry’s recent appearance together in Nottingham. He felt it came across better than her photo opportunity with Malala, which he described as looking staged.
He also called the Nottingham visit a possible turning point for the couple. In his view, the crowd’s warm welcome reminded people of Harry and Meghan’s early popularity.
Ede said the appearance helped draw attention to the good the couple could do, rather than the controversies surrounding them.
He called it a clever move but added that they would need to keep making similar efforts to rebuild public support.
