Meghan Markle’s friends respond to reports about The Gentlemen casting decision

People close to Meghan Markle have reportedly responded to claims that she will not appear in Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen.

According to the Daily Mail, sources close to Meghan accused Netflix of sharing news about her possible role to attract attention to the show.

The sources claimed the second season was not as good as the first. They suggested that Netflix, which had already approved a third season, used Meghan’s name to help promote the series.

One source described this as a familiar publicity tactic. They said a famous person is asked to read a script, and reports then suggest talks are underway, even when little progress has been made.

The source added that the situation had upset Meghan and Prince Harry’s team. The comments were attributed to people close to Meghan, rather than to Meghan herself.

Meanwhile, The Sun reported that Ritchie had dismissed the idea of Meghan joining the cast, allegedly saying: “Really? Not a chance.”

An insider quoted in the report praised an actor named Robert as an industry icon and said Theo James wanted him in the cast.

The insider also claimed that Meghan was no longer being considered. They said a meeting had taken place, but a decision was later made that she would not appear in the show.
