Piers Morgan has criticised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after a friend reportedly questioned how people describe their role in the royal family.
According to The Sunday Times, the friend said it was misleading to call the couple “former royals.” The friend also said Harry and Meghan dislike the phrase “working members of the royal family” because they see it as a “lazy” way to define royal duty.
“They are members of the royal family and they work,” the friend said.
Royal journalist Roya Nikkhah shared the report on X, formerly Twitter. She said these views were unlikely to ease tensions between the couple and the royal family.
Let me help them: Working Royals do endless duties for the good of their country. These two grifters are doing fake ‘royal work’ to line their own pockets. It’s shameless, shameful and should be stopped.

Morgan responded with the words, “Let me help them.” However, his comments were critical, rather than supportive.
He said working royals carry out duties to serve their country. He then accused Harry and Meghan of doing what he called “fake royal work” for their own financial benefit.
“It’s shameless, shameful and should be stopped,” Morgan wrote.
The report also claimed that Harry and Meghan felt “emotional and overjoyed” by the welcome they received in Nottingham. The comments about their royal status came from a friend, rather than directly from the couple.
